The
sealing
ring of
Metric
thread
cable
gland
has been
provided
with a
membrane
to
prevent
ingress
of
moisture,
air,
dust
etc.
into the
equipment
till
cable is
connected.
At the
time of
installation
of
cables
the
membrane
can be
easily
pierced
through.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
For Direct Fixing :Screw the nipple
portion of the cable gland into housing tightly.
In this case flat lock nut is not required.
For Fixing with lock nut: Wherever a
blank hole is provided in the housing of the
equipment, insert the nipple portion of the
gland through this hole and fix it tightly by
means of flat lock nut. Please see figure 2.
Now pass the compression nut and the ring in
succession over cable before commencing to
terminate the cable. Then push the cable through
the gland and tightly secure the compression
nut. Due to pressure the ring will expand in
radial direction so that it will have a tight
grip over the outer sheath of cable thus
effecting a dust proof entry of the cable.
